We at Bobbi and the Strays are happy to announce we're having another one of our fun all-you-can-eat-pasta parties! If you've been to any in the past, you know the great time everyone has. Here's the scoop:
When: Thursday, August 21, 2008
Time: 7pm to 10pm (don't be late!)
Where: Carosello, 162-54 Crossbay Blvd., Howard Beach, NY - Parking in the rear
All you can eat pasta (3 different kinds including vegetarian of course),
Special Parmigiana Dish,
Fresh Green Salad,
Pizza Bread,
Unlimited Soda,
Delicious Desserts (Cookie/Italian Pastry Assortment), and
Coffee Bar with Cappucino & Espresso.
Tickets are $25 per person which also includes gratuities and a free chance to win a surprise door prize! We will be holding a huge Chinese Auction with tons of beautiful gifts after dinner.

We are looking to purchase property to give our animals a new wonderful place to stay before they go to their forever homes. It doesn't have to be too fancy or too big. We need a building with working heat, water and electricity that would provide enough room for kennels, a cat room and a small office space. We also require some yard space. We are interested in anything that is in workable condition. We are also interested in land only if it is zoned commercial. Please call Bobbi at 718-326-6070 if you have property that would suit our needs.

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. - and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. As a result, every year 4 to 6 million animals are euthanized because there are no homes for them.
What can you do to stop the suffering?
Spay and neuter your pet! In addition to saving lives, spaying and neutering can also drastically improve your pet's health and life expectancy. The idea that pets become fat or lazy when they are spayed or neutered is a myth. Fixed pets lead healthier, longer lives. Spaying a female eliminates the possibility of uterine and ovarian cancer and greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer. Neutering a male reduces the risk of both prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. Neutering also will make your pet more affectionate and less likely to roam, get in fights, or become lost.
Neutered cats do not spray and mark territory. Spaying a female dog or cat eliminates its heat cycle. Females in heat often cry constantly and show nervous behavior - how cruel! Spayed and neutered pets are less likely to bite !

Volunteering and Donations
Volunteers are always needed to help at our adoption days, transport animals to the vet, and foster our pets until we find homes. We also need volunteers to help with our daily chores - dog walking, cleaning cages, cleaning litter boxes for the kitties, etc.
We need donations of clean towels, dog toys - especially tennis balls or other types of balls for playing fetch - and nylabone chew toys (all sizes, the more durable the better) - our dogs love them, they last long and they really give the dogs something to do, milkbone dog biscuits, air-tight containers to store dry food and stainless steel bowls and cat toys. Last but not least, we can always use Polaroid film - hey a picture of our animals is worth a thousand words!

Most importantly, we need donations to continue our work. The cost of housing a pet until it gets adopted is over $200 per month. Most pets are with us 3-6 months before being placed with a family. Boarding and vet bills run in the thousands of dollars each month. Please help by sending any amount you can to:
